LUNAR 2021
EXPERIENCE
When the team came to us and said we want to go big for Lunar New Year - San Francisco this year, I was like finally I can make this scavenger hunt I’ve always wanted to create! And they said whoah! Back it up a little bit. They won, but it still ended up to be pretty cool for my very first venture into AR. This past year was the year of the Ox. And all around San Francisco were these Ox sculptures done by various artists, so I wanted to run with it. We were in peak Covid angst, and I wanted to do something that might get people out and about in the city. A way for people to design they’re own OX, and then using AR place that Ox in a location that might have some emotional value. Perhaps too ambitious (it’s a theme), we instead created 3 custom AR ox experiences scattered throughout the San Francisco store, that were QR enabled. Each Ox included a brief story that spoke to the artistic elements and treatment. So really big scavenger hunt throughout the city turned into slightly smaller more modest scavenger hunt in the store and they loved it. I also got to design two of the oxes. One I illustrated in a floral pattern, and one that was made from faceted metal.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Make it stand out.
